Rules
How the heist works.
Your plan
- Pick 2 crew members, 3 tools (you have $100K), and one move for each of the 5 layers of security.
- You can change your plan as often as you like until you lock it. Plans lock for everyone at Sat, Oct 31, 11:59 PM ET. A complete plan you didn't lock is locked for you at that moment (so it loses ties to plans locked earlier). An incomplete plan doesn't count.
- One plan per person per case. One account per email.
The episode
- The heist episode runs the plan most players picked: the two most-picked crew members, the three most-picked tools, and the most-picked move at each layer.
- Every plan is scored separately, against the same sealed answers. You can win even when the crowd gets caught.
Scoring
- Heat. Every move makes noise. Go over 100 and you're caught. Quieter pays more.
- The night. Every move happens at a set time. Your plan has to work as one night.
- Rare route. Find a route few crews pick, and your cut grows, up to double.
The formula. Get out: your loot, minus 5% for every 10 heat, times your rare-route bonus, minus what you spent on tools. Get caught: you lose your $100K.
- Heat is shown live in the planner for every move you pick, including what your crew and tools take off. It tells you how loud you are, not whether a move works. Whether a move works is in the sealed answers. Over 100 heat at any point and you're caught there.
- The night runs in layer order. The planner shows the time of each move; if your plan can't happen in that order, it fails where it breaks.
- Money: whatever you don't spend on tools comes back to you if you get out.
- Rare route is worked out when plans lock, from how many locked plans share your five moves: under 5% of crews ×2.0, 5–10% ×1.7, 10–20% ×1.4, 20–40% ×1.2, 40% or more ×1.0.
- Every case starts you with a fresh $100K stake. Ties go to the deeper run, then the plan locked first.
- Leaderboards: this case, and the season (your scores from every case in the season, added up).
The season prize
- Prize: The Kingpin medal, a custom challenge coin (Saveo House · Kingpin · Season 1), one each for the top 3 players on the Season 1 board. Approximate value about $30 CAD each. No cash alternative. The same 3 players go in the Season 1 Hall of Fame on this site, under the name they play with.
- Season 1 is Case Files 01–04. The board closes after Case File 04's heist (mid-December); the final standings are the scored totals at that moment.
- Free. No purchase is needed, and buying anything on this site doesn't help your score or your chances.
- Who can win: anyone with a player account, except Saveo Technologies Inc. staff and their households. Winners under 18 need a parent or guardian to accept the prize for them. Residents of Quebec can play but aren't eligible for the physical prize. Void where prohibited.
- Winning: we email the top 3 within 7 days of the season ending. A winner confirms from the Instagram account shown on the board (if any) and sends a mailing address within 14 days, or the prize goes to the next player. Winners in Canada must correctly answer a skill-testing question first.
- One person, one account. Duplicate or fake accounts are removed from the board and can't win.
- Shipping is on us, anywhere we can reasonably ship. We use your address only to send the medal.
- Run by Saveo Technologies Inc., Ontario, Canada. Not sponsored or endorsed by Instagram, YouTube or Meta.
Playing a closed case
Once a heist has aired, its answers are public, so a closed case can't count toward a season or a prize. You can still play it in practice mode: make your plan, see how far it gets, and compare with the players who were there live. To play for the medal, join the current case.
The seal
Before plans open, what happens for every choice is written down and sealed. Nothing is decided after you pick. After the heist, we publish the full answers, so you can check how every plan was scored.
Fair play
Every answer can be worked out from something shown in the briefing. Some of it is never said out loud.
The small print
- Free to play. Nothing you pay for anywhere on this site changes your score.
- You must be 13 or older. Your email is used to log you in and to tell you when plans open and when the heist airs. Your Instagram @ is shown on the leaderboard only if you add it and leave “show me” on. See the privacy policy.
- Everything in the story is fiction: the museum, the stone, the crew and the security. The choices are story choices, not methods.
